Individual Health Management Programs
Personal Health Analysis
The GET HEALTHY™ Personal Health Analysis (PHA) Questionnaire is the most advanced tool on the market for determining an individual’s health risk. The eight-page PHA is provided by Gordian Health Solutions—a third-party vendor and noted leader in health management. Individuals covered by a LGC HealthTrust medical plan can annually earn a $75 reward for completing an online PHA by using a unique keycode or $50 for completing the paper PHA being mailed to them.
Personalized Health Coaching
After completing the GET HEALTHY Personal Health Analysis (PHA) Questionnaire, participants
will receive a Personal Wellness Report containing valuable information about any major health
risks they may have and how to reduce them by adapting their health habits. Gordian’s Health
Coaches are available to help design a Personalized Action Plan for achieving personal health
goals to reduce or eliminate the risk of developing serious disease. These qualified nurses,
dieticians and exercise physiologists are reachable by phone (toll-free) or e-mail Monday through
Saturday.
Personalized Lifestyle Coaching Program Offerings
Participation in Personalized Lifestyle Coaching Programs can result in lower absenteeism, an
increase in productivity and a reduction in healthcare costs. These lifestyle management programs provide education and coaching for individuals who want to make specific healthy changes. All are voluntary and offer a personalized, step-by step approach to assist participants in achieving a healthier life.
Health Awareness Program
The LGC HealthTrust Health Awareness Program reimburses 100 percent of the cost of many
health and safety related educational seminars and classes. After completing and submitting the
GET HEALTHY Personal Health Analysis Questionnaire, each participant can use the
reimbursement program.

Group Health Management Programs
Flu Vaccine Programs
At LGC HealthTrust, we provide a Flu Vaccine Reimbursement Program that makes on-site flu shot clinics available annually for the benefit of our health insured members. This program offers
member groups the option of using LGC HealthTrust vendors or in-house personnel to deliver the
service.
WELLDollars Discretionary Grant Program
LGC HealthTrust annually offers financial grants of up to $4,000 through its WELLDollars Discretionary Grant Program to assist member groups in implementing appropriate, onsite health and safety activities that work to reduce employees’ overall health risks.
Health and Safety Management Coordinator Support
LGC HealthTrust provides a strong support service for health and safety management coordinators to member groups through the quarterly Coordinator Connection newsletters, annual training and a variety of materials for assisting with health and safety planning efforts.
Consultation Services
LGC’s Health Management Representatives are available to coach and guide school and municipal groups in designing and implementing health management programs, which include health risk and interest assessments, lifestyle claims analysis and more.

Health and Safety Seminars
The following seminars are designed to be approximately one hour in length, with the exception of the Women’s Health seminar, which is available in one-, two-and three-hour formats based on course content. Back Safety*
Eighty percent of Americans will, at some point in their lives, experience back pain. This workshop provides useful information on the back’s anatomy, common back disorders and conditions that may relate to job performance, plus how to avoid back injuries through preventive measures such as proper lifting techniques.
Blood Borne Pathogens*
This workshop reviews the two major blood borne pathogens, Hepatitis B (HBV) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). It also defines standard precautions and discusses emergency steps to take when blood borne pathogen exposure exists.
Caring for the Elderly
This workshop provides a detailed overview of being a caregiver to the elderly. Participants will receive information on support services and programs available in New Hampshire that can assist caregivers. It also provides tools and tips for being an efficient caregiver and learning to balance family and work.
Fitness 101
This workshop reviews the benefits of exercise and identifies the components of fitness. It also incorporates simple steps for getting in shape as well as related nutrition and safety tips.
Flood Water Exposure and Disease Prevention*
In recent years, New Hampshire has experienced an increase in flooding. As a result, municipal employees are being called to duty to protect the health of their town and city residents. Municipal employees must also watch out for their own health in order to function optimally and ensure the public’s safety. This workshop focuses on the hazards associated with working in and around flooding plus ways your workforce can stay safe and healthy while doing so.
Injury Prevention for the Weekend Warrior
Reviews how to prevent and treat common overuse injuries—from straining muscles in a pick-up game of football to overdoing it with home improvement activities.
Men’s Health: Tune Up for Life
Since most men do better job of taking care of their cars than their bodies, this interactive workshop teaches them how to treat their body more like their car by keeping it in tip-top shape. Attendees also learn about chief health threats for men and preventive strategies to stay healthy.
Nutrition 101
Due to our increasingly busy lifestyles and today’s “super-sized” food industry, Americans are consuming more calories than ever with up to 80 percent of all adults in the United States being overweight. This workshop covers nutritional basics and provides helpful tools and tips for incorporating proper nutrition into our daily lives. Topics covered include healthy snacking, interpreting food labels and how to select lean cuts of red meat.
Obesity: What Can You Do?
Approximately 64 percent of adult Americans are categorized as being overweight or obese. An estimated 16 percent of children and adolescents between 6-19 years are overweight. This workshop takes a close look at the obesity epidemic. Participants will learn how to fight obesity through physical activity, nutrition and community collaboration.
Responsibilities to Summer Camp Participants
This workshop addresses health, safety and liability issues related to summer camp program participation. Topics covered include the following: providing appropriate instruction and supervision; malpractice and negligence; heat, sun and water safety; prevention of insect transmitted diseases (including Eastern equine encephalitis and Lyme disease); plus other summer related health and safety issues that may affect staff members and participants in camp programs.
Self-Care
Because 25 percent of all doctors’ visits are deemed unnecessary, this workshop focuses on skills that teach employees how to be empowered in making informed healthcare decisions and to partner with their providers in a shared decision-making process.
Sleep Smarts: Improving Sleep Habits
This workshop provides an overview of how vital sleep is to our health and well being. Participants will receive helpful information on the causes and symptoms of sleep deprivation and learn how to develop healthy sleep habits.
Summer Safety
Summer is a New Englander’s most deserved time of year after surviving a long winter. Along with summer, however, come certain seasonal hazards. In this workshop, attendees learn how to best enjoy the summer by protecting themselves from sunburns, heat stroke, West Nile virus, Lyme disease and more.
Understanding Your Health
This workshop highlights LGC HealthTrust's Slice of Life health management program and its valuable health and safety resources available to LGC HealthTrust's medically covered members and family members. Topics covered include the GET HEALTHY Personal Health Analysis Questionaire, Health Awareness Reimbursement Program and LifeResources—Member Assistance Program. Also highlighted are the value of medical consumerism and self-care practice.
Winter Safety
Learn how to make the most of the winter season with a workshop that focuses on appropriate clothing, hydration, safety precautions for out door activities like shoveling, how to keep warm in almost any circumstance and much more.
Women’s Health
Because men and women have different needs for obtaining optimal health and wellness, this workshop provides up-to-date information on a variety of women’s health issues. Topics addressed include the leading causes of death in women, stress and depression, physical activity and nutrition, self-esteem and eating disorders.
Workplace Ergonomics
In recent years, rapid technological advances and an increased focus on computer work have caused office workers to face a host of injury risks such as low back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, neck, shoulder and eye strain—just to name a few. This workshop is designed to help participants capably adapt to the modern office environment by learning preventive solutions for reducing employee injuries and accidents. Attendees will develop a basic understanding of ergonomics concepts, common musculoskeletal injury risks and strategies to decrease those risks.
Zoonotics: Properly Handling ‘Road Kill’*
This workshop provides valuable information on zoonotics or animal-borne pathogens, including Eastern equine encephalitis—one of the most serious mosquito borne diseases in the United States. It covers what zoonotics are, how they can affect employees on the job and offers tips on how employees can properly protect themselves from animal-borne pathogens.

Interactive Health and Safety Demonstrations
At New Hampshire Local Government Center, we understand the power of health prevention and how health risks can significantly contribute to chronic illness and disease. That’s why we offer the following interactive demonstrations.
Body Fat Monitor
An increased amount of body fat puts an individual at risk for a variety of illnesses such as heart disease and stroke. Body fat amount cannot be detected by appearance alone, which is why it is important to monitor your body composition. The Body Fat Monitor estimates body fat percentage in comparison to muscle mass.
Dermascan Skin Analyzer
Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers in the United States.The Dermascan Skin Analyzer can help your employees learn more about the power of prevention by providing an individual assessment of skin damage caused by the sun. Participants also receive helpful skin damage prevention tips plus additional educational materials and scent-free, hypoallergenic sunscreen.
Fatal Vision® Goggles
Driving while tired has been likened to driving under the influence. Using Fatal Vision goggles as a training tool can vividly demonstrate the concept of impairment and dangers of impaired driving. Groups can take advantage of this interactive demonstration alone or accompanied with LGC’s Sleep Smarts: Improving Sleep Habits workshop.
GloGerm Demonstration
Two-thirds of all foodborne illness is transferred by hands leading millions of people to suffer from illnesses attributable to pathogens controllable by proper hygiene? The GloGerm Demonstration provides participants with germ awareness and helps them learn how easily germs can spread and how proper hand washing can minimize the risk of developing illness from germs.
Grip Strength Dynanometer
Both muscular strength and endurance are proven to increase energy levels. They also help avoid injuries and foster the performance of daily activities more easily and efficiently. The Grip Strength Dynanometer provides a useful and quick assessment of participants’ general upper body strength.
Nutrition Lunch Box
The nutrition lunch box is an interactive tool that allows members to see the “true” serving size of commonly consumed foods. It offers comparisons of food serving sizes to everyday objects (e.g., 1/2 cup of ice cream = 1/2 of a baseball) and is a great accompaniment to LGC’s Nutrition 101 workshop.
Simulated Smoker’s Lungs Demonstration
In New Hampshire, almost 22 percent of the adult population, and nearly 20 percent of high school students, smoke. This graphic demonstration can increase employees’ awareness of the dangers of smoking by visually illustrating how a diseased lung looks and functions in comparison to a healthy lung. Additional educational information and resources on smoking cessation and prevention are provided.

All Aboard! A Team Building Training
Working for an organization is uniquely complex and demanding, particularly in today’s high-stress, customer driven society. This participatory training addresses some of the issues facing employees and ways to build strong teams.
Coping with Grief and Trauma in the Workplace
Whether it is a traumatic incident in the workplace or the death of a beloved coworker or family member, workgroups often experience difficult events together. This facilitated, educational seminar enables coworkers to understand the crisis they are facing and learn ways to help themselves and each other cope.
Department of Transportation (DOT) Mandated Drug and
Alcohol Awareness For Supervisors
Participants will learn how to recognize signs of substance abuse as job and performance problems and DOT violations; constructively address those problems with employees; identify employee appearances and behaviors that trigger “reasonable suspicion” drug tests; and implement the organization’s substance abuse policies.
Five-Star Customer Service
Providing and role modeling excellent customer service as a municipal employee can be challenging but not impossible. In this training, we will address the particular challenges faced in local government and offer strategies for success.
Saying No To Bullying: Strategies for Schools & Municipalities
Bullying has become an ever-increasing problem among youth and adults. Public displays of aggression are becoming everyday occurrences in schools and office settings. This training shares recent research and strategies to minimize incidents.
Sexual Harassment Prevention
This seminar heightens participants’ awareness of sexual harassment in the workplace. Federal laws and organizational policies that protect workers from sexual harassment are discussed. Participants are encouraged to examine their own attitudes and behavior plus how their behavior impacts co-workers.
Taking the Lead: Developing Your Leadership Skills
We are working at a faster pace and, more often, within teams requiring cross training and collaboration. This training explores participants’ views of leadership and discusses ideas for developing new skills. The concept of leadership agility is also reviewed.
Workplace Violence Prevention
This seminar addresses factors contributing to violence in the workplace. Statistics on the type and frequency of violence committed in the workplace are provided with useful interventions highlighted.
