Specialty Seminars

Administrators, managers, supervisors, department heads and elected officials of LGC Property-Liability Trust’s Member Groups can access the following services directly through LGC’s Risk Management Representatives.

Employment Law Hotline
The Employment Law Hotline provides LGC Property-Liability Trust Members with direct access to attorneys at Devine, Millimet and Branch Professional Association during normal business hours. They are able to provide sound legal advice regarding Title VII, FMLA, ADA, Fair Labor Standards Act, wrongful termination, age, sex and race discrimination, and other employment matters. To access the Hotline, please call 603.695.8582 for an initial 30-minute consultation. If further assistance is required, please contact your LGC Risk Management Representative.

Ergonomics Workplace Survey
Ergonomic issues affect all areas of operations and often go unreported until work and life quality are compromised. This survey of employee offices, workstations and other areas assures that their design and layout are appropriate and that employees are working comfortably.

Joint Loss Management Committee (JLMC) Assistance
This program provides an overview of JLMC requirements and responsibilities under New Hampshire RSA 281-A:60 and New Hampshire Administrative Rule Lab 602.02 (c) (8). Topics include the following:

  • Workplace hazard identification
  • Accident and/or incident investigation
  • JLMC duties and responsibilities
  • Guidance on conducting workplace safety surveys
  • Tips/techniques on maintaining enthusiasm
    and effectiveness

Playground Audit and Inspections
LGC’s Certified Playground Safety Inspector will conduct an audit of new or existing playgrounds for compliance with Consumer Safety Product Commission and American Society for Testing and Standards International Guidelines for Public Playground Safety. LGC will generate a report citing issues of non-compliance with recommendations for addressing potential safety hazards identified.

Policy and Procedure Assistance
This program provides one-on-one assistance from an LGC Risk Management Representative and assists department heads and managers in developing policies/procedures frequently mandated and/or required by either state or federal regulations and those typically related to personnel. Topics include the following:

  • Drug free workplaces
  • Drug and alcohol testing
  • Hazardous communication
  • Emergency response plans
  • A variety of policies required for schools, public works, law enforcement and fire departments

Risk Management Assessment
Upon request, LGC’s Risk Management Representatives will conduct a Risk Exposure Assessment at your Group’s location and provide a detailed report that identifies potential risks. Recommendations will be provided to help guide an organization toward pro-active, risk management planning.

This program is intended for fire service personnel of all ranks and covers situations and habits which lead to fire service injuries and fatalities. Topics include the following:

LGC’s Risk and Health Management Department offers a wide variety of specialty seminars and workshops, located regionally, that feature nationally prominent speakers. These seminars deal with all facets of municipal, school and district government and are offered throughout the year.
