New England Rail Coalition

The NHPA Executive Committee became a member of the New England Rail Coalition (NERC). NHPA became a signatory to a letter dated August 24, 2009 addressed to US Department of Transportation and the Federal Railroad Association. The letter expressed NERC’s strong support for the investment of American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds in high-speed and intercity rail and, more particularly, investments that will improve and expand New England’s passenger and freight rail system.
