President's Message

October 2011

Dear Tax Collectors,

It is an honor and a privilege to represent the NH Tax Collectors’ Association. My goal as President is to continue to promote the professionalism of NH Tax Collectors through training and education; which are the keys to our association’s success. We are fortunate to have the support and teamwork of the Executive Board, County Coordinators and various committees to help achieve this goal. It is their selfless dedication and willingness to impart their many years of knowledge and experience that makes our association so remarkable.

Collecting property taxes is challenging because of the multitude of laws and regulations that govern our job. Our skills as collectors are many and diverse; ranging from organizational, accounting and communication to problem solving. It is important for all of us to realize that we are not alone in our quest to perform our jobs with accuracy, integrity and professionalism. Networking with our peers is an invaluable and rewarding educational opportunity. You are strongly encouraged to reach out to other collectors for assistance; you will not be disappointed. This association is comprised of caring, supportive individuals who show mutual respect, offer moral support and help to assist us in becoming a better person in our chosen profession of tax collection.

There are two changes to the Executive Board members for the coming year. Cindy Torsey of New Hampton is stepping down from her role as Secretary for the past two years. We sincerely thank her for her efforts and dedication as we welcome Cate DeVasto of Bow to this position. Kathleen Sylvia of Auburn is welcomed as our Second Vice President .

I am truly humbled by confidence and faith in my ability. I want to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to serve as your President in the coming year. I look forward to working for and with all of you.

Respectfully submitted,

Cheryl-Ann Bolouk, CTC
NHTCA President
