Investigating Social Network Officer Misconduct
This two day program will help police department supervisors and investigators create social media policies that establish standards for both officers and civilian employees. The workshop will emphasize the growing use of electronic communications, including social media such as Facebook and Twitter and email and texting, and encourage department heads to set clear limits on what is acceptable, both at work and outside work. The workshop will stress the need to respond to misconduct on social media promptly and appropriately, and to publicize the department’s zero tolerance policy within the community.
