The basic premise of municipal welfare is that the municipality must provide for those who are unable to provide for themselves. Current economic conditions are placing increased pressure on local general assistance programs. The delicate nature of meeting needs while balancing varied issues related to administration of general assistance lead many in the field to refer to this process as the "art of welfare."

The 2010 Welfare Administrators workshop offers a valuable opportunity to review legal requirements and case studies, learn new technologies, develop new strategies and share experiences with colleagues. Attendees will receive the 2010 edition of The Art of Welfare Administration, which features expanded information and important 2010 case law impacting municipal general assistance programs.

Cancellation Notice: Notification must be received 48 hours in advance for a full refund. If the registration fee has not been submitted, New Hampshire Local Government Center will invoice you for $40 to cover the cost of meals and materials.
