Inspections and Assessments

clipboardThe following services are available to Risk Pool Groups of the NH Local Government Center. Administrators, managers, supervisors, department heads and elected officials can access these services directly through their Health and Safety Advisor at LGC.

Beach & Pool Inspection

Not sure if your Beach or Pool is meeting local, state and national standards? Why not schedule an LGC Beach or Pool Inspection. The inspection process includes a walk through of your facility followed by recommendations based on local, state and national standards as well as suggestions from the Local Government Center Health & Safety Department. The objective is to make your pool and/or beach safe for your employees and community. To schedule an inspection contact the Health and Safety Department at LGC.

Ergonomic Workplace Survey

Ergonomic issues affect all areas of operations and often go unreported until work and life quality are compromised. This survey of employee offices, workstations and other areas assures that their design and layout are appropriate and that employees are working comfortably.

Fitness Assessment

Would you like a way to jump-start your group’s fitness program? To measure the progress of individuals as they work toward greater fitness? To show your group members where they stand in comparison to others in their age and gender group? To give them reinforcement, inspiration and motivation for change?

A Full Fitness Assessment can help with all of these and more. Conducted by trained and certified LGC Health Management Representatives, the assessment includes basic measures of height, weight, resting blood pressure and resting heart rate. Your assessment will also give you your calculated THR (target heart rate), BMI (body mass index), and Body Composition (ratio of muscle to fat). The YMCA Submaximal Step Test is used to measure your relative cardiovascular fitness level, and other simple tests measure muscular strength and flexibility. Your assessment will take between 25 and 30 minutes. All Fitness Assessment data is protected by HIPAA regulations and kept completely confidential.

Indoor Air Quality Assessment

A healthy work environment should be a focus for any health, safety or wellness initiative. Better indoor environments allow for healthier, more effective cleaning and can save on operating costs. At LGC, Our Health & Safety Advisors can help you conduct a facility evaluation, as well as provide recommendations which focus on factors contributing to poor indoor air quality and how to make positive changes.

Joint Loss Management Committee (JLMC) Advising

This service provides an overview of JLMC requirements and responsibilities under New Hampshire RSA 281-A:60 and New Hampshire Administrative Rule LAB 602.02 (c)(8). Topics include workplace hazard identification, accident/incident investigation, JLMC duties and responsibilities, workplace safety assessments, and tips and techniques for maintaining enthusiasm and effectiveness.

Playground Safety Inspection

LGC’s Certified Playground Safety Inspectors will conduct an audit of new or existing playgrounds for compliance with the Consumer Product Safety Commission and the American Society for Testing and Standards International Guidelines for Public Playground Safety. LGC will generate a report citing issues of non-compliance with recommendations for addressing potential safety hazards identified.
