Welfare Administrators Workshop
The Welfare Administrators Workshop is held annually in June and presented by the New Hampshire Local Government Center and New Hampshire Local Welfare Administrators Association (NHLWAA) in conjunction with the NHLWAA spring conference.
LGC legal services attorneys traditionally present a session titled “The Art of Local Welfare,” with a focus on the legal duty of cities and towns to provide welfare assistance to those in need. The session provides a detailed overview of what the law requires, covering welfare guidelines, determining eligibility, verification procedures and miscellaneous issues related to local welfare assistance. Recent and pending legislative changes impacting local welfare administration and budgets are also covered. NHLWAA invites additional speakers to present timely topics of interest to welfare administrators.
Attendees receive a copy of the most recent edition of The Art of Welfare Administration, published by the New Hampshire Local Government Center.
