Welfare Administrators Workshop

The Welfare Administrators Workshop is held annually in June and presented by the New Hampshire Local Government Center and New Hampshire Local Welfare Administrators Association.

LGC legal services attorneys traditionally present a session focused on the legal duty of cities and towns to provide welfare assistance to those in need. The session provides a detailed overview of what the law requires, covering welfare guidelines, determining eligibility, verification procedures and miscellaneous issues related to local welfare assistance. Recent and pending legislative changes impacting local welfare administration and budgets are also covered. Members of the New Hampshire Local Welfare Administrators Association Executive Committee respond to attendee questions and provide guidance for managing a sound welfare program.

Attendees receive a copy of the most recent edition of The Art of Welfare Administration, published by the New Hampshire Local Government Center.

The 2011 Art of Welfare Workshop was held Thursday, June 16, at the Local Government Center.
